Gratitude 2013 - Be Still My Heart - Year in Review

Where to even begin. This year. Wow. This year. Gratitude doesn't even feel like a big enough word to describe the overwhelming blessings that have made this year one of the most memorable, exciting, challenging, remarkable...every good word possible...of my entire life.

Whether it was the great honor I have as a photographer to experience the most intimate and special moments of people's lives, the calling I have claimed in my heart of hearts to affirm women in their unique beauty, my creative work with Orchestrated Stylized Shoots, or my new found partnership with The Studio Hampton Roads...both personally and professionally, this year takes the cake. In. Every. Single. Way.

I thank each and every one of you from the very bottom of my heart. And that doesn't even skim the surface of the love I have for each moment, each person, each memory. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Bridal Portraits: All Your Own

Allison and Anais are happily married now, so you know what that means! I can finally share the bridal portraits! You'll remember their beautiful Cape Charles engagement session and naturally, we couldn't get enough of this beautiful place, so it was home to our bridal session as well. Before we get started, here is a sneak peek from their wedding. It was the perfect combination of Southern charm, simple touches and the carefree, relaxed couple we all know and love.

Allison's bridal portraits were a fun little foray all over Cape Charles with her Mama in tow, and with a smile like hers, it just makes my job easy. And when a bride is rockin' an amazingly stunning Jim Hjelm couture gown...heaven.

Stay tuned for more from this amazing couple, and maybe even a little sneak peek at a super quaint, soon-to-be-public rustic wedding venue for all of you Eastern Shore lovers. ;)

Bridal Portraits: All Your Own

I started the Bridal Portraits: All Your Own series just over a month ago when I shared Christina's ridiculously amazing beauty here and commented on the return of bridal portraits and female portraiture in general. My most recent client, Ashley, really grasped the idea of incorporating her most beloved and favorite things into her session, which included (and not necessarily in this order!) a rockin' pair of killer shoes, her Daddy and her sweet baby girl, Chevy, who has been her loving sidekick for just about forever and is honestly, the best trained, most loving and super patient dog I've ever met. She makes my arrogant little miss, Ivy the bulldog, look like a train wreck of attitude and disinterest at home. Ha!

Ashley and Chris married this past weekend and I couldn't be happier for them. As with most of the clients I am so blessed to call friends, they share a true love that radiates depth, trust and commitment to last the ages. I'll be sharing their wedding images in the coming days and weeks, so be sure to check back. But in the meantime, celebrate Ashley's unique beauty and meet the adorable Miss Chevy. :)
